Thanks for visiting!

During the 17 years I've lived in the city of Euless I've been dedicated to raising my family, serving God through my local church, and serving my employer.  I've also had the privilege over those years of serving on the Euless Advisory Board for Social Concerns as well as the Euless Zoning Board of Adjustment.  Now I would like to have the privilege of serving our city as a Euless City Council Member.

My wife and I are blessed to have six wonderful children ranging in age from 10 to 22 years old.  Euless has been a great place for our children to grow up.  We've moved twice within the City and have enjoyed each location we've lived in.  We also enjoy taking advantage of the benefits and attractions offered by the surrounding cities of Dallas and Fort Worth.  Euless has an established, well run, city government.  We have a diverse culture.  Our schools have a good reputation.  Recently BusinessWeek magazine honored one city from every state in its list of the best affordable places in America to raise kids.  Of all the fine cities in the state of Texas, it singled out Euless for this honor.  Money magazine ranked Euless 34th in its list of America's best small cities.  Others are discovering what you and I already know.  Euless is a great place to live!  Check out Euless at:  http://www.ci.euless.tx.us/

Prior service to the City
I served the City for many years on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.  Its purpose is to hear cases of appeal, variances, and exceptions concerning the zoning sections of the City of Euless Unified Development Code.  Our meetings were conducted in a formal manner, similar to the way City Council meetings are conducted.  The cases we heard required careful consideration of the facts and circumstances.  Our best decisions were the result of thorough analysis, clear communication, sound reasoning, and good judgment.  I didn't always agree with the Board's conclusions but I felt good about the process and was proud overall in our service to the community.

Professional experience
Currently, I am employed by Marshall & Swift, a 75-year old publisher of commercial and residential building cost data.  I'm responsible for the development and implementation of an online tool known as CostSeg-Pro.  My clients are cost segregation service providers.

Prior to M&S, I was a Senior Manager in the Valuation practice of a Big Four accounting firm and I was best known for my experience in the field of Cost Segregation.  My clients ranged from small entrepreneurial real estate investors to some of the largest companies in the world.  The analyses I prepared required a broad understanding of construction processes, relevant tax law, and construction accounting.  I was fortunate to work with lots of high achievers that represented diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.  Exceeding our clients' expectations was always one of our primary goals and the environment was always fast paced and challenging.

Education
Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Science in Construction Management, both from Texas A&M University.

Professional organizations
American Society of Appraisers - Accredited Senior Member (ASA)
American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals - Senior Member

Personal and service organizations
First Baptist Church of Euless - I have been an active member since 1982 and have served in a variety of church ministries over the years.  Currently, I am an active Deacon, serve on the Personnel Committee and as Lay Leader for our Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and teach a four year old children's Sunday school class.
Boy Scouts of America - I was very active in Scouting as a youth and earned the Eagle Scout rank.  As a father, I've been involved locally with Troop 98 serving as Troop Committee Chairman for several years.  Currently, I serve as the Troop Chaplain.  My oldest son earned his Eagle Scout rank in Troop 98 and my other two sons are both working hard to do the same.

Why vote for me?
I don't believe in change simply for the sake of change.  Our City Council consists of the Mayor and six Council Members.  These are the only elective officers of the City and they are elected from the City at large to serve in three year terms.  The Mayor and members of Council draw no compensation for their duties.  Each Council Member occupies a specific "place" and each year two places come up for election.  This means there are always four places that are not up for election and this provides stability and continuity to the government of the City.

I do believe it's healthy and beneficial to inject fresh ideas and diverse perspectives whenever possible.  The perspectives I bring to the City Council will be influenced by my faith, my family, my employment, my prior service to the City and my life experiences in general.  I am not obligated to or controlled by any organization or group.  I have demonstrated myself to be a man of integrity who is faithful to his commitments and can be trusted to do the right thing.

My commitment to you
I have considered running for City Council in the past but my life circumstances, including my employment and personal commitments, have not allowed me to commit the time and attention necessary to serve properly if elected.  I'm now in a position that I can commit to you that if elected to serve as a Council Member, I will serve faithfully, to the best of my ability, for the entire three year term.
